Who is eligible to apply for an American Coney Island NFL FLAG Michigan Grant?
- Individual grants are available to assist with player costs for children, ages 5-17, who are interested in participating in NFL FLAG in the state of Michigan. Parents or legal guardians of participants will apply for the grant on behalf of the child.
- Grants are only available for participants in Michigan NFL FLAG leagues, funding for other flag football programs will not be provided. Applications will be considered based on the following criteria:
- Completed application.
- Annual household income is less than Michigan’s state average of $71,149 and proof of income is verified and valid.
- Proof that the child is enrolled in Medicaid, SNAP or WIC.
- Individual has not already registered to participate in a Michigan NFL FLAG league.
- Participant has not already received funding for the current calendar year.
- Please note that this list of criteria is not meant to be definitive and can be changed at the discretion of American Coney Island and the RCX Sports Foundation.
If I meet all criteria, does that mean I will automatically receive a grant?
- Unfortunately, no. The American Coney Island NFL FLAG Michigan Grant has limited resources and cannot approve every deserving applicant.
How much funding can I receive through an American Coney Island NFL FLAG Michigan Grant?
- The amount of funding provided is the full cost for your child to participate in a Michigan NFL FLAG league.
- If more than one child is approved for funding in one household, there is a $10 discount up to four (4) children. For example, if the cost of registration is $140 for both family members, the total amount awarded will be $270.
What type of information do I need to provide on the application?
- Before starting your application, we recommend ensuring that you have all necessary information and documents handy. Examples of information include: all necessary organization contact information, the total cost of your NFL FLAG participation cost, proof of income, proof of child’s enrollment in Medicaid, SNAP or WIC, etc.
What is the process for applying for funding?
- Gather all necessary information (examples listed above) prior to beginning your application.
- Create a free account on Submittable to get started.
- Review the grant acknowledgements to ensure you quality for the grant.
- Select the 2026 American Coney Island NFL FLAG Michigan Grant and start your application. Follow the instructions in the application and note any required responses before submitting. If you ‘Save a Draft’ you can return to your application in your Submittable account to finish the application at a later time. Once you are finished with your application, make sure to submit it.
- Once you submit your application you will receive a confirmation email. Sign into Submittable to check your application status, request to edit your application, or message the RCX Sports Foundation with questions regarding your application.
- You will receive an email whether your application is accepted or declined.

If awarded a grant, how will I receive my funding?
- If awarded, you will receive a registration code to use when signing your child/children to play.
- Please note that if more than one child in your household is approved for funding, you will receive a total of one code that will cover the registration for all children approved in your household. Please note that these codes can only be used once, and that the same household cannot obtain more than one code.
